Discipleship:  a Christian’s response to the relationship offered by God in Christ which leads into a fully transformed life of love, in obedience, service and witness to Jesus Christ, continually growing in Christ likeness.

Goal: Provide a spectrum of support for congregation members at different levels to develop and succeed in their discipleship walk.

Activities for 2006

• Find a trainer for Sunday School (SS) teachers to bring all teachers to a baseline level of competency
• Establish coordinator for Sunday School teachers
• Develop a track (program) for disciples to follow
• Assess current classes/decide on changes or additions
• Develop a system of following up on church attenders to help steer them toward available resources for their particular needs.
• Make information available about prayer partnerships and a list of those seeking a partner for those who may be interested
• Develop an evaluation for Sunday school attendees to fill out at the end of each class
• Develop a survey to gauge congregational needs/interests
• Review the “Get to Know Christ UMC” class/develop a one hour overview.

Progress Notes

1.) Have set up web page with links to sites helping people understand that God does exist and has made himself known by coming in the flesh as Jesus Christ.

2.) Have set up training for all Sunday school teachers to take place Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 1 PM unitl about 3 PM

3.) Adult Sunday School Coordinator position approved by Church Council 7/13/2006. Ministry will include coordination of all adult Sunday School teachers, classes and teacher training.
